AHA CONSULT : ELECTOCARDIOGRAM
By the American Heart Association

THINK THIS IS MOST AUTHENTIC MONOGRAPH ON ECG AS IT IS CONCEIVED BY NONE OTHER THAN COMMITY FOR CLINICAL CARDIOLOGY BY AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION.
The scalar electrocardiogram (ECG) continues to be an effective,
inexpensive, and widely used clinical tool that is easily acquired. Any
student of electrocardiography (physician, nurse, or medical student) can
learn to interpret the essentials of electrocardiography. Even though
computer interpretations of ECGs are readily available, the clinician’s role
as overseer and final interpreter has not and must not be diminished.
Fundamental principles and commonly encountered abnormalities of
conduction patterns and arrhythmias are covered in this publication, which
is not a substitute for standard textbooks on electrocardiography but rather
an introduction to this time-honored and well-established diagnostic tool.
The reader is urged to consult more extensive texts and periodicals for
specific details. A list of suggested reading is provided at the back of this
publication
