Whether you are interested in watching fun and entertaining movies for free or if you like making your own movies to share with other internet users, YouTube is the place for you. What is nice about YouTube is they are not only a video sharing website.  With an online community section, YouTube, in a way, can also be considered a social networking site.

When it comes to visiting the YouTube community section, there are a large number of YouTube site visitors who wonder why they should do so.  If you are one of those individuals, this is quite a normal feeling. The YouTube community works by making a few groups.  For instance, one of the many groups found on YouTube is funny videos.  If you have a funny video, you can request to have it displayed in the funny video group.  If you are just a viewer, you may also be able to request to have some of your favorite videos in a certain YouTube community group, whether it is the funny video group or not.  Not only will joining the YouTube community give you easy access to a number of videos that you are sure to like, it also gives you the opportunity to start discussions with other YouTube members, namely those who are participating in or enjoy visiting the same group.

If you are interested in joining a YouTube community group, you will need to click on the “Community,” tab, which can be found at the top of the YouTube webpage. There, you will be able to choose from a long list of YouTube community groups.  As it was previously mentioned, funny videos is one of those groups.  Under all of the videos that have been added to the group, you will see a discussions section.  In a way, this section is like an online message board. There, you can post your own messages or you can respond to other messages left by other YouTube community group members.  Joining a YouTube community group is nice because it automatically pairs you up with other internet users who enjoy the same interests, at least entertainment wise, as you.

In addition to joining the YouTube community groups, if you are also interested in interacting with other YouTube members, you may want to think about visiting the TestTube section of YouTube.  You can access TestTube by clicking the “TestTube,” link, which is in small print at the bottom of each YouTube page.  Right now, YouTube is working on a program, which you can try out, that lets internet users who are viewing the same videos discuss that video. In a way, this acts as if it is an online message board, but also an online chat room.  While this feature is still in the experimental stages, it is sure to quickly become a YouTube hit.

As outlined above, YouTube isn’t just about watching and sharing videos. You can also join in on discussions that are currently taking place on the site.  If you aren’t already doing so, you may want to look into it, as it only adds to the fun and excitement of YouTube.

What to Consider When Making a YouTube Video

YouTube is a popular online website, which allows internet users, just like you, to share videos or watch an unlimited number of them.  While a good portion of the individuals who post videos on YouTube are just posting videos that they have laying around, there are many more who actually make videos with the sole purpose of uploading them to YouTube and sharing them with other internet users.  If you are one of those individuals, there are a number of points that you will want to keep in mind.

When it comes to making a YouTube video, one of the things that you will need is a video recording device.  Popular video recording devices include camcorder, webcams, as well as cell phones with video recording capabilities.  If at all possible, you will want to try and use a webcam or a camcorder, as these video recording devices often produce the best quality.  If you are looking to make your YouTube video be a hit, quality is something that you will want to take into consideration. Many YouTube video viewers dislike watching poor quality videos; in fact, not everyone sticks around to finish watching them.

Editing is also something that you will want to take into consideration.  YouTube actually encourages you to examine your video before uploading it to their site.  If you notice anything that you would like changed, you are advised to edit your video before uploading it to YouTube.  Of course, you don’t have to edit your video if you don’t want to, but editing your video is also likely to improve the overall quality of your YouTube video.  It is also relatively easy to do.  Most computers come with movie editing software programs already installed.  It may even be a good idea to play around with a movie editing software program and your YouTube video; you may be surprised just how fun it can be.

It is also important that you think about and examine the content of your video, especially if you are planning on doing a comedy video.  Comedy videos are popular on YouTube, but you need to remember that a large number of people visit YouTube for entertainment.  Many of those individuals are from different races, sexes, and religions.  You will want to be cautious of offending any of your viewers, intentionally or not.  Keep in mind that comedy means different things to different individuals.  Of course, you have the right to make just about any type of YouTube video you want; you are advised to use your best judgment.  Should you be good at making YouTube videos, you may be able to make a name for yourself on YouTube, but you will want it to be a good one.

It is also important that you examine safety when making a YouTube video.  As previously mentioned, comedy videos are popular on YouTube and so are video blogs.  Video blogs are where internet uses recite their blog in front of a camera, instead of in print.  Video blogs are fun to do, but many video blogers, both on and off of YouTube, make the mistake of giving out too much information about themselves.  For your safety, you will want to avoid giving your real name, especially if you are showing your face on your video blog.  It is advised that you do not mention your real name in any of your YouTube videos, but you definitely do not want to mention your address or any of your phone numbers.  Not divulging your personal information is for your own safety.  You need to remember that you never really know who is watching your YouTube videos or what they are thinking.

The above mentioned points are just a few of the many that you will want to keep in mind, before making a video which will later be posted on YouTube.  In short, aim for quality and keep internet safety in mind and your YouTube video could end up being a hit.

What to Consider Before Posting a Video on YouTube

Are you interested in making a video to have displayed on YouTube?  With a large fan following, YouTube is a great place to make your own videos and get them seen.  With YouTube, it is not uncommon for one video to get as many as a few thousand hits, sometimes even more.  That is one of the main reasons why internet users, just like you, enjoy sharing their videos on YouTube; the exposure is nice.  Of course, the decision to upload your videos to YouTube is yours to make, but there are some important factors that you may first want to take into consideration.

As it was previously mentioned, many YouTube videos end up getting thousands of hits.  While having a large number of viewers is nice, you never exactly know who is viewing your videos, as well as what their intentions are.  In today’s society, you need to be extremely careful; different people interpret things different ways.  While you may believe that you are just posting a simple online video blog, someone else may actually think that you are speaking to directly to them or think that you want to be found and contacted.  This shouldn’t prevent you from uploading videos to YouTube; however, it should make you practice safety.  You are advised against giving out any personal information about yourself, including where you live, as well as your full name.

What is nice about YouTube is that they allow you take one of your videos down at a moments notice. For instance, if you received poor feedback from one of your videos or if you changed your mind about sharing your video with the rest of the internet community, you should be able to take your video down, but what you may not know is that the damage may have already been done.  There are many internet users, particularly those who consider themselves video fanatics, who actually copy or save the videos that they find interesting or appealing. This means that even though you deleted one of your YouTube videos, it could still be in circulation, possibly even in the wrong hands. That is why it is advised that you seriously think about what you are doing before actually posting videos on YouTube.

It is also advised that you examine the content of your YouTube videos before actually uploading them to the site.  While you might not necessarily be concerned with offending anyone, you should be.  There are many internet users who take offense to videos or just discussions in general that bash or make fun their races, religions, or general way of life.  You do not want to create a negative name for yourself or even just your YouTube name, as it may later come back to haunt you.  It is also advised that you think about keeping your face out of your YouTube videos.  Showing your face may make it easier for internet predators to find and contact you. Should you post a video of yourself of YouTube, you may want to examine your appearance or think about how others may interpret your video.

The above mentioned factors are just a few of the many that you will want to take into consideration, before making or uploading your videos to the YouTube website.  As previously stated, the decision as to whether or not you want to share your videos on YouTube is yours to make, but if you are interested in doing so, it is advised that you display caution.
